Rebekah Lusk is an Associate at the Thienel Law Firm, LLC. Her practice focuses on business law, litigation, landlord/tenant law, real estate, family law, and equine and animal law. Rebekah is a native Washingtonian, although she spent most of her childhood living in Montgomery County, MD. Rebekah comes from a long line of DC business owners. Her great grandfather started in 1930 what became Rufus S. Lusk & Son, Inc, a groundbreaking real estate information service company.  Rebekah’s father ran this company during her childhood, and she spent many an afternoon and summer helping around the office in Silver Spring, MD.

Rebekah has continued her family’s entrepreneurial tradition by founding a home improvement company with her husband, a property development and management company with her family, and operating a horse boarding facility. Rebekah brings her personal experiences as a small business owner, real estate investor, and landlord to the task of practicing law and working with clients. She directly and personally understands the challenges of business owners, as she experiences them everyday.

Rebekah received her Bachelors Degree from the University of Chicago and attended law school at The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. While at Catholic, Rebekah was a member of the law review and graduated Cum Laude. Prior to attending law school, Rebekah worked as an organizer and manager for local and national policy and advocacy organizations in Chicago and DC.  Rebekah has been very involved in local community development and was a board member of the Port Towns Community Development Corporation, based in Prince George’s County, MD, from 2004 - 2010. While serving on the board, she was a member of the executive committee and served as President for two years. In the summer of 2010, Rebekah fulfilled one of her life-long dreams and purchased a horse farm in Frederick County. Rebekah lives on the farm with her husband, two dogs, five cats (although three of them are barn cats), and horses. In her spare time, when her husband and she are not working on the farm or renovating their 170-year-old farmhouse, she competes in the equestrian sport of Eventing.
