Rebekah Lusk is an associate at the Thienel Law Firm, LLC. Her practice focuses on business law, real estate, landlord/tenant law, estate planning, family law, and equine and animal law. Rebekah is a native Washingtonian, although she spent most of her childhood living in Montgomery County, MD. Rebekah comes from a line of DC business owners. Her great grandfather started in 1930 what became Rufus S. Lusk & Son, Inc, a groundbreaking real estate information service company. Rebekah's father ran this company during her childhood, and she spent many an afternoon and summer helping around the office in Silver Spring, MD.
Rebekah has continued her family's entrepreneurial tradition by founding a home improvement company with her husband and a property development and management company with her family. Rebekah brings her personal experiences as a small business owner, real estate investor, and landlord to the task of practicing law and working with clients. She directly and personally understands the challenges of business owners, as she experiences them everyday.
Rebekah has a BA from the University of Chicago and received her JD from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. Prior to attending law school, Rebekah worked as an organizer and manager for local and national policy and advocacy organizations in Chicago and DC. Rebekah is very involved in local community development in her community. She has been a board member of the Port Towns Community Development Corporation, based in Prince George's County, MD, since 2004. She has served on the executive committee since joining the board and served as President for two years. Rebekah lives in Hyattsville, MD with her husband, two dogs and two cats. Additionally, her husband and she are avid equestrians, own horses, and compete in the equestrian sport of Eventing.
